Sudbury SummerFest began on the back of a flatbed truck in a mall parking lot. As all good things do, Sudbury SummerFest grew into one of the premier summertime festivals of Northern Ontario. What is important to note that the little festival that could was created by volunteers and continues to be organized 100% by volunteers making it truly a community event.
Today Summerfest showcases national and international recording artists and family entertainment over 4 days on multiple stages. Some previous artists include Our Lady Peace, Edgar Winter, Colin James, Ray Sawyer and Dr. Hook, Jeff Healey, Finger Eleven, Fefe Dobson, Faber Drive, These Kids Wear Crowns, Kim Mitchell, David Wilcox, Stampeders, Chilliwack, Thornley, Sloan, The Trews, and more! Summerfest has also built a reputation as the single largest gathering of original local performers than any other festival in Northern Ontario.
Summerfest brings originality, uniqueness, family fun, and comedy to Sudbury through a variety of stages and areas. Steel drums, a juggler riding a 6 foot high unicycle, a comedy of ballet on stilts, a kids mosh pit with Charlie Kert, the music of Bandolini, a one-man band, or Charlie Chaplin and his hilarious antics bring entertainment for everyone!
A big favourite is Summer Water Sports with their water-ski extravaganza with jumps, twirls, ballet, and human pyramid. They mesmerize all with their skill and bring laughter with their comedy!
Sudbury SummerFest proudly promotes accessibility striving toward being inclusive to the entire Greater Sudbury community.
There is no better way to spend a fun, family weekend then with Sudbury Summerfest. Enjoying music, artists, cotton candy and the midway on the picturesque shores of Lake Ramsey at Bell Park.
